A highlight of the day was a lively and thought-provoking assembly led by our Head of English, Daisy, titled “Is it Hip Hop or Shakespeare?”. Students thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of distinguishing between lyrics by artists such as Eminem and lines from Shakespeare’s plays. The assembly was not only great fun, but also helped to break down barriers, showing that Shakespeare’s language – while sometimes seen as challenging – shares surprising similarities with modern music and storytelling.

Overall, the day was a wonderful reminder that reading comes in many forms and can be enjoyed by everyone. We hope it has inspired students to explore new texts, revisit old favourites, and continue discovering the power of words.
