Assistant Head of In Toto Peterborough and DDSL (Peterborough)

Trine is the Assistant Head of In Toto Peterborough, joining us with over 25 years’ experience in education. She began her career in Post-16, teaching BTEC National in Sport, Exercise Science, and A-level PE. After a period living in Canada, she returned to the UK and began working in large secondary schools, initially teaching PE. It was during this time that Trine began developing a strong interest in pastoral care and wellbeing, ultimately shifting her focus to supporting students’ mental health and overall welfare.

Before joining In Toto Ed, Trine took on a senior leadership role as Head of Pastoral, in an independent school where the students had a broad range of complex needs, from dyslexia, to ADHD, Autism, anxiety and EBSA. Her responsibilities quickly expanded, and she became the Mental Health and Attendance Champion.

Trine’s qualifications include a BEd in Physical Education from Crewe and Alsager (now Manchester Metropolitan University) and 6 years’ experience as a DDSL, as well as further studies in mental health, special educational needs (especially ADHD, autism, and dyslexia), and a Diploma in Educational Psychology. She also has experience as a school governor, where she contributed to safeguarding and policy development.

    Why I Enjoy My Role:

“Every young person deserves the best opportunities to achieve their potential, to learn in a way that works for them, and to have someone who believes in them, no matter the challenges. That’s what I strive to offer every day.”
