For students with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), the first step in the admissions process involves receiving a formal consultation from the student’s SEN caseworker. Once this consultation has been received, we will arrange a meeting with the parent or carers and the young person to ensure we gain a clear understanding of their needs, aspirations and support requirements. Following this meeting, and after a thorough review of the supporting documentation, we will assess whether we are able to meet the student's needs effectively within our provision. If we determine that we can offer appropriate support, we will prepare detailed costings and submit them to the local authority for panel approval. Once the costings have been approved, we will proceed with the enrolment process, working closely with the family and the local authority to ensure a smooth and supportive transition into our setting.

We also offer tailored intervention placements for students who are on roll at a mainstream school but require additional support outside of their current setting. These placements are flexible in duration and are designed to meet a range of individual needs. Common aims include improving attendance and punctuality, boosting confidence, re-engaging students with their education, and providing opportunities for specialist assessments such as those conducted by Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) and Educational Psychologists.

These interventions also offer students the chance to learn in a quieter, more nurturing environment that may better suit their emotional or sensory needs. By providing targeted support in a calm and supportive setting, we aim to help students build resilience, develop key skills, and prepare to successfully reintegrate into their mainstream setting or transition to an alternative pathway where appropriate.

We do not run an annual or termly Open Day; instead, interested students and their parents or carers will be invited for a private tour of the building and a meeting with the Head. This personalised approach ensures that families have the opportunity to ask questions specific to their circumstances and gain a clear understanding of our ethos, curriculum offer, and the tailored support we provide.
