We now have a number of organisations who have agreed to take some of our students on work programmes, and we will be working closely with our students this term, to match them with the correct placement, and to prepare them for these opportunities.
We have had a really positive response from a variety of work placements, and we look forward to forming a long professional relationship with these businesses, and to supporting our young people with the valuable employability skills that work experience offers.
Currently, some of our students in Peterborough continue to attend the New Ark Farm for work experience; New Ark is the only city farm in the Eastern Counties. They have a variety of animals and birds on the farm and our students learn how to handle and care for them under the supervision of the New Ark staff.
A number of our students also attend the forest school facility at Ferry Meadows, where they have been learning outdoor skills, as well as how to work with others.
A variety of other work placements are also available, ranging from retail to local places of interest, such as Peterborough Museum.
