Art Department Autumn update

This term has been filled with inspiring experiences beyond the studio, giving art students the opportunity to explore creativity in real-world settings.

Burghley House

In September we kicked off the year with a Trip to Burghley House stately home and sculpture gardens.

The sculpture park provided inspiration for students working towards both:

UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication
NCFE Level 1 Award in Creative Craft.

Tina Firkins

In October we had a visit from a local artist, Tina Firkins, who came to talk our KS4 and KS5 Art students about career opportunities. She showed and discussed her work, and she also ran a printing masterclass. The students enjoyed it very much and created some excellent artwork.

Peterborough Cathedral

In November we went to Peterborough Cathedral, collecting inspiration for an architectural drawing project and creating some Christmas cheer!
