London School Update: December 2023

Updated: Feb 9

It has been a busy half term in the London School. There has been a real focus on exam preparation with several students completing mock exams and focussing on completing units ahead of visits from our awarding bodies next term.

The learning environment has been further developed, with an array of new displays springing up around the building. We have also now taken on additional teaching space on the second floor; this will give us room for a larger gym area, a meeting room, an art classroom, office space, and a room for the students to sit their exams in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of the main school.

Staff have been busy inducting students on how to access our VLE Firefly, and we have continued to look at how to use technology in our lessons more effectively.

Our curriculum offering continues to grow with qualifications in Creative Media, IT, Vocational Science and Performance Skills now available. Our Personal Training Students are now members of Pure Gym in Lewisham, allowing them to train in a professional gym environment.

Since October, we have welcomed new students and said goodbye to some who are transitioning back into mainstream education. There have

been lots of Christmas activities taking place and we are gearing up for a busy final day which includes In Toto’s Got Talent, pizzas, and ice skating for all the staff and students.

We look forward to welcoming students back into school on Thursday 4 January.
