  • STEM update - March 2026

It’s been a busy and successful term across Maths and Science, with students building key skills, completing mock exams, and preparing for their upcoming assessments.

    Mathematics

Year 10 students have been working on fractions, decimals, along with calculating amounts of quantities, angles in parallel lines, and probability.

Year 11 and Post-16 GCSE students have successfully completed their mock GCSE assessments in preparation for the real examinations next term. Well done to them.

Functional Skills students have been learning how to interpret and draw pictograms, calculate the area of compound shapes, and understand and draw nets, plans, and elevations. The students are working towards their assessments next term, and one student successfully passed their Entry Level 3 assessment last week. Congratulations to them.

    Science

The GCSE Biology class has successfully completed their mock GCSE examinations in preparation for the real exams next term – well done to them. The class has been practising investigation techniques for the required practicals, which are assessed as part of the course. They have also been working on examination techniques and revising the contents of the GCSE Biology specification.

The Chocolate Easter Egg raffle was very successful; we raised £182 for the school council's chosen charity.
