  • Meet the Cambridge Music & Media Department

The Music and Media department’s aim at In Toto Cambridge is to empower students to develop as independent artists through a comprehensive and industry-relevant curriculum.

Within Music, we focus on three core areas of the industry; music production, performance, and business. Within Media, we focus on creating a range of portfolios, showcasing the student’s talents in short film, graphic design and social media. These projects equip students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to progress along their chosen career pathways.

In Music Production, students learn to use Logic Pro to produce and record their own original music using industry-standard equipment, preparing them for professional release. In Performance, students work towards a series of live showcases throughout the year, utilising both traditional instruments and modern technology. In Music Business, students gain a practical understanding of how the music industry operates, developing the entrepreneurial and managerial skills needed to thrive within it.

In Media, students will learn about different styles of film, including narrative film, 2D and 3D animation, and create a short film using Premier Pro in any style they wish. In graphic design, students will examine all the different styles of print and digital graphic design and create a portfolio using Photoshop. In the social media project, students will learn about branding and how to create advertising campaigns for real businesses.

Throughout their time at In Toto Ed, students have opportunities to enhance their learning through educational trips and experiences. Previous excursions have included visits to renowned venues such as the Cambridge Junction. All courses are designed and delivered by experienced industry professionals who draw upon their extensive real-world expertise to provide authentic and inspiring learning experiences.
