In Toto Tales offers an opportunity for our students to share a written piece about something they're currently working on or are passionate about. How Art helps In Toto students in the real world

Artist Profile: Robert*

Robert is an aspiring artist here at In Toto Ed Cambridge. Since September, Robert has been working on a space project, making various different paintings and models.

He enjoys art because it helps him to relax, and told us he also likes creating as he is very curious and enjoys "the freedom of making it whatever you want".

Robert also shared his inspiration: Damien Hirst. Born in June 1965, Hirst is a British contemporary conceptual artist, also a leading figure of the Young British Artists (YBAs) movement. We see a similarity between the range of different colours used in bother artist's work.

How Robert creates his pieces:

First, he cuts a circle out of a cardboard box. Then, he picks out his colours and attaches the circle to a clay spinning machine and adds his colours. Finally, he turns on the machine and watches his work come together.

Forza Horizon news

Forza Horizon 6 comes out on the 19 May 2026, announced at January's Xbox Developer Direct. This is a brand-new car game that fans have been waiting five years for. Usually, the gap between games is only about two years, so Forza fans have been foaming at the mouth for a new game. The game is set in Japan, a location Forza fans have been asking for since Horizon 2.

Japanese car culture is the biggest in the world; it is absolutely huge over there. Nearly all body kit companies come from Japan. There are slightly illegal street races on the Tokyo Bayshore Route; there is a national racing series called Super Formula that is a lot like Formula One, and drifting was practically invented in Japan; drifting is the art of keeping control in an extended slide.

Playground Games, a UK-based development studio, are the developers of Forza Horizon 6 and Fable. To make a Japan-focused game, Playground hired a cultural consultant to make sure the in-game Japan looks and feels authentically Japanese. Alongside listening to the fanbase, the dev team went to Japan to get inspiration and collect data for textures and sounds.

One feature I am most excited about is the new progression system. You start out as a tourist, and you have to earn your way into the Horizon festival. Winning races and driving with flair will earn you points. A wristband system, last seen in Horizon 2, has made a return. These bands measure your progression. The final band is gold, which unlocks Legend Island; an area we know little about.

Release date: 19 May on Xbox and PC, PS5 release later in the year.

Collectables: cars, stamps, and mascots are hidden somewhere...

Horizon Rush Events: show off your skills in obstacle course-style races.
The cover cars are the Toyota GR GT and the 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser.
Customisable garages: based on Horison 5's event lab, players can customise their garage and invite your friends to see it.
Car mese: a group of car enthusiasts meet somewhere to show off their cars.
New aero, body kits, and window decals.

Student Council

On the 12 February, the In toto Ed pre- and post-16 student councils will be having their first general meeting. Sign up sheets are dotted around the school, so if you feel like getting involved put your name down. If you are unable to attend, find a council rep and ask them to speak on your behalf.
