Peterborough School Update: April 2024

We have definitely had a very busy term at Peterborough. With the purchase of a Smith machine our gym is now complete, and the students are very much enjoying the chance to improve their fitness. Recently, they have started a weekly competition covering a number of activities within the gym.

Elsewhere students continue to thrive in all subject areas; Construction students have made progress on school improvements work, most notably helping to hang our new doors, and starting to develop our reception area. Alice Howard, our teaching assistant, is working with students to create an exciting, vibrant outdoor area, putting all of her artistic skills into practise. Our cooking sessions consistently produce amazing food, with Easter cakes being the latest fantastic creation. Some of our students are also preparing to open a tuck shop ready for the Summer Term, where they will be putting their numeracy skills to the test by purchasing and selling items daily. Our Music students are also very busy completing collaborations, which we hope to showcase towards the end of the academic year.

We finished the term with two consecutive Trips Days; split into two groups, half the students will visit Glo Golf, while the other half prepare an end of term buffet, and then swap.

Thank you for all of your support last term, and I look forward to another busy, final term of the academic year.

Mark Venters,

Head of School, Peterborough
