London School updates: Summer Term, 2023

London School updates

This term has flown by in a frenzy of GCSE examinations and visits from awarding bodies to sign off on vocational qualifications. We have enrolled a number of new students in Year 10, and have launched our new Beauty Studio, under the watchful eye of Beauty Teacher Cecilia.

The Music Studio has been a hub of activity with students from different year groups collaborating on tracks and supporting each other on different projects. Wednesday assemblies have been interesting with staff leading on different themes across the term, and our careers series launched with a talk from Safer Schools Officer, PC Bradley.

With the glorious weather bestowed on us, students have been using the Heath for Sports lessons, along the fabulous tennis courts in Greenwich Park. We have seen a number of students start weekly work experience and we welcomed Nadine as our new Head of School (Operations and Pastoral).

The kitchen remains a busy hub of activity with Key Stage 4 students enthusiastically preparing meals as part of their qualifications, and the Science department continues to wow us with amazing displays, including 3D volcanoes! DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) is now firmly embedded in the timetable and the Library is fully-stocked.

And finally, we are so proud of our Level 3 student Jay, who has completed his Level 3 Award in Education and Training, Level 3 Applied General Certificate, and has a place to study Music Production on the Bsc (hons) course at SAE.

We’re looking forward to the holiday ahead and are keeping our fingers and toes crossed for GCSE results day in August.
