  • Attendance matters

Every day at school counts. The evidence is clear – even a few days of missed school can have a significant impact on a child's education and future prospects.

Missing more than 10% of the sessions has been linked to lowering the odds to 50% of meeting the grade standards and achieving the qualification.

SEN students are already at higher risk for lower attainment; missing school widens this gap significantly and interferes with the consistent, tailored support that is required. Only about 36% of persistently absent children achieve expected grades in core subjects, compared to 78% of regular attenders.

What to do if your child is unwell and needs to be off school.

All students’ absence must be reported by 9am on the first day of absence and each subsequent day. Please ensure you either call the main office number 01223 344355 and select option 1 to leave a brief message detailing your child’s name, the reason for their absence and your name. If you are unable to call the office, please email Cambridge@in-toto-ed.com before 9am. If your child is off with vomiting or diarrhoea, please be advised they will need to remain off school for 48hrs after the last episode to ensure they are well enough to return, and reduce risks of spreading infection.
